When Minecraft was still in l alpha I had downloaded it when there server was down. End of last year I had done the not allowed stuff so I could play with some of my friends online but I feel bad about doing that. I had asked my parents before if I could buy Minecraft but they keep annoying me about is it really worth it? Do you really want to waste your money on it? Well Minecraft is the reason now why I know much more about how electronics work but the reason why I changed my mind last time I asked is because of my grades. I usually keep getting a GPA of 2.4 to 2.8 I have gotten higher GPA's but it is not really my fault because I have ADD which my no one knew about. Now I have some ADD pills but it feels to me that they only work a little to short. Maybe if I tool my pills a bit later in the morning it should help.

Back to the question. Should I buy the game? Do you think I also can get good grades?

I bought this laptop in December, 2008 and it just worked completely fine. Later on in the summer of 2009 I experienced my first problem with this laptop. The screen just went over brightened and turning down the brightness of the screen did nothing. In 2011 I experienced my second problem, the screen its horizontal refresh rate looked as if it's about 50Hz and as well it only stayed for about a day or so like my first problem. Then about a couple of months later the second problem I had occurred again but it would just randomly appeared and became more constant until it stopped happening. Then in November 2011 it occurred again and stayed for a about a week and then it stayed normal for two days and became permanent after that. I also bought a monitor because randomly my backlight of my screen would go off, but when this problem became permanent my laptop wouldn't show anything on my monitor. Now this year of 2012 in March I opened my laptop and started search for any obvious damage and found nothing. I then did a little bit of modifying to the cooling so that it wouldn't get as hot. The laptop uses a 40 pin connection for the screen and gets some of its data from the VGA port next to it where my monitor is connected to. Now I noticed if my laptop is connected to the monitor and on low resolution I would get some moments that I see something but what I see is not centered but more to the left side, my monitor would say "Signal out of range" and also nothing was perfectly aligned horizontally and what was being displayed was only a part of everything. An other strange thing was that ever thing on my internal screen was normal except for that horizontal refresh rate.

Any idea of what the problem is? I'm not going to some stupid repair man because they'll just be looking for money and probably aren't going to completely fix the problem. This has already happened to me several times. I do have the material to fix it but I don't know what the issue is!
