I was sitting on my porch the other night.2 kids come driving around the corner in a Corolla and hit a speed bump.It tore off the cars entire exhaust system.Does this happen with low cars?

My wife lost one of her jobs in July.I lost mine around same time.She makes about $200. a week.It barely keeps the roof over our heads and food on the table and the electric on.We are looking for work whenever we can.We are both in mid-fifties and jobs are scarce it seems.Anyway we have 2 credit cards and have tried to work with them.We made payments regularly and on time.But the last 5 months we have not made any nor do we use the cards.Tried to reason with them but they said we did not qualify as a hardship case and keep sending bills with mounting charges.What can they do to us legally?
