I sprained my ACL and missed a week of college lectures because my physician was on vacation and I didn't want to pay $2,000-$10,000 on visits/rehabilitation since I knew what was wrong. I've informed all my professors through email and none of them have responded over the week. I'm still keeping up with all the content and earning perfect scores on my online assignments, mostly quizzes. Other than that, I do have psychological disabilities which add on to this, but I keep hidden from the faculty board because I don't want to be treated differently or receive anything that will give me an unfair advantage over my classmates. Is it really a big deal to miss a week of college? Just concerned because I don't have an official doctor's note for the ACL and they haven't responded.

I was at a family wedding and I had to use the washroom but I have a phobia of sitting down on public toilets. After a while, I didn't feel the need to go anymore so everything was fine. I just went to sleep when I got home because I was extremely exhausted from being there. Wake up in the morning nauseous and I know exactly why. I wasn't constipated at all and had no problems with it. Is there any medication that I can take that will fight off the toxins or whatever before it gets worse?

My lower wisdom teeth are hiding under the gums. I'm assuming they just cut it open, take out the teeth, and stitch it up. If anybody has gone through this, can you give me some advice or tell me what it's like?

I went to the last 30 minutes of a party to pick up some friends to make sure they made it home safe. Of course, the police began to knock on the door and I'm now caught in this situation. I was completely sober and blew a 0 on the breathalyzer. The police officer said that I did not do anything wrong. Except for one thing. I DIDN'T OPEN THE DOOR?! I advised the host to open the door because either way we're screwed. He did not give me permission to open the door so I didn't. I assumed that it could have gone wrong both legally and socially if I were to do so. I was thinking that it may have backfired on me because the owner did not give me permission and that could have became a legal issue if he were to blame anything on me. I also thought about it and everybody, as drunk and stupid as they were, would blame me and use me as an excuse for granting the officers entrance into the building. Of course, it would have been the most logical answer, however, I do not think having a ruined high school reputation to avoid a $100 fine was worth it. Yes, I know I was stupid for risking social status. But would you want to live four years of being avoided by everybody?

I've recently been diagnosed with ADHD and just got my medications right now. To be honest, I'm scared to take it. I have class in a few hours and I heard that it can impair driving. Is it normal to take these? Are the side affects most likely to happen or is it one of those things that CAN happen but most likely won't?

I want to write a paper on one that SOUNDS dangerous but really isn't. Is there one that involves the cardiovascular system yet it isn't threatening? Or something that would involve seeing a cardiologist?

I'm looking for something that involves health. Not something simple like dieting or smoking. I'm looking for something similar to physician-assisted suicide (although it is only legal in three states, so there is not much to persuade). I've also heard of taking organs from animals and using them in humans, but I already did a persuasive essay on that last year and want something new. Any suggestions?

I used to have U-Verse Max (12mbps) and it was very inconsistent. Some days my connection would be horrible and disconnect every few hours. Some days it would run flawlessly and I would be able to host LAN parties with my friends. Recently I've been getting high ping when gaming (around 1,000ms) so I upgraded to Max Turbo (24mbps). Although the disconnecting issue has been solved, my internet still spikes up to 1,000ms when gaming. Is there a way I can monitor my connection to see what is causing the latency spikes?

My motherboard pretty much broke and my friend said he has parts on a second computer that would fit mine. I know the RAM/processor that I have right now won't work on his motherboard, so I asked if I could buy those off of him too. How much should I pay for these parts? I know they're a little old, but I don't have much money and I want to buy it from somebody I trust.

My dad's iPhone keeps shutting my internet down when he leaves/enters the house with it. It really screws me over when playing an online game. Is there a way that I can block his device out of our WiFi? He is a very old fashioned person and doesn't know that the iPhone can do more than call/text so he won't notice at all if block him out.

I currently have an HD 6770, 8GB RAM, and an i5 2320. I'm thinking about buying the R9 280X when it comes out, but I'm not sure if my processor is going to bottleneck the graphics card. Would it run Battlefield 4 smoothly (60+ FPS) if I bought the R9 280X?

I have never seen this bug in my basement before. It looks like an ant, 6 legs, black, length of your shift key, and... a lovely pair of pincers on it's face (so it is not an earwig). Any ideas?

I've thought I had ADHD at an early age but I was too embarrassed to tell my parents about it. I went to my doctor and he said that I should really get it checked out with a psychiatrist because he is convinced I have it. Unfortunately I am too old for him to legally diagnose me. My GPA is a 2.8 and I really want to get into med school more than anything, but I couldn't do it. Every time I tried to pay attention in class or study, I read it without processing any of the information or I get very mad as I try to focus. I've tried my best. Will med schools take my ADHD into consideration if I start getting A's after being diagnosed?

I was making a left turn at a three way (I had the option of left or right) because it was clear but somebody made a risky right on red and sped at least 30+ when the speed limit was 10 over here. They almost hit me so I had to stop at the middle of my turn. Since I was stopped in the middle of the street trying to prevent that accident, the car that was going to take a left (the guy who took a right on red cut him off mid turn too) and almost hit me because he wasn't paying attention either. I'm a new driver and I'm not sure if I was supposed to just take that hit (It could have killed me, honestly) or if I was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Was it my fault? Sorry if this wasn't clear.

My brother does not smoke and he gets REALLY mad when he smells it because he finds it unfair that he has to suffer from other smokers when he will not smoke himself. Ironically, he keeps sniffing and smelling it. Has he become addicted and craves cigarettes somehow?

I'm 20 years old but at the age of 14 I thought I had ADD. I told my brother and he assumed that everybody thinks they have it. Now that I'm older, I have done many research projects on ADD and other learning disorders as psychology is my major. I am 101% sure I have it and there is no doubt about it in my mind. However, I'm kind of too scared/embarrassed to get tested. Has anybody else felt like this before? Do you frown down on people who have ADD?

I don't understand why anybody can disagree. Let's say that you were a billionaire. Whether you're a materialistic person or not, you can still do good for both yourself and others. You can put your money into research for cancer/AIDS. You can put your money into better schools. You can start up a business and open up jobs for others. You can help less fortunate countries/places develop. You can be subtle about your wealth and still find love. I'm willing to say that money can solve almost all of your problems. How can anybody disagree with the idea of money bringing happiness?

I really like technology and healthcare, but I can't decide which one I want. I'm torn between a computer scientist or a physical therapist. Can anybody name any professions that would make a hybrid of the two?
