There are many of passions to pursue in San Diego and that hotelbye is the spot to start discovers what San Diego must offer. In the San Diego vacation you'll stage external of one's comfort zone and you will explore new activities while you're here and you might just discover that acquiring a new desire is an experience in itself. One of the places must see from San Diego is Balboa Park. This park has over a 1400 acre and here you will find historical buildings, numerous museums, gardens, and natural space. The park was designed for the Panama California Exhibition of 1915-1916. The predominant architecture is Spanish-Mexican style, minimal stage structures that blend in with the natural surroundings. Among the shows of the park are the Botanical Gardens and lily lake, the Museum of Man, the Museum of Natural History, the San Diego Museum of Art, and the popular San Diego Zoo. Even although you never get into a making the park is simply a lovely place.

The drive is roughly 5 hours without traffic. With traffic it could go up to 6. My advice is to leave early in the morning, mid day or later at night, therefore you will miss most of the traffic through Riverside/San Bernadino. The worlds largest thermometer is in Baker. Nothing to stop and see but you can look at it off the freeway as you drive. Primm (the state line of CA and NV) is ok but you are almost in vegas so sack it up for the stretch run. The drive back can suck really bad, one time it took me over 10 hours to drive home.

It's a bit of a toss up. If you avoid the rush hour, it can be a pleasant 5 hour drive.

As far as flying. When you figure in the time you spend getting to the airport, waiting, going through security, flying, renting a car in Vegas, and then getting from the airport to the hotel, you have probably consumed 3 or 4 hours anyway. Not to mention the extra money you spent...

    I prefer to drive.

If you don't go during rush hour, driving really isn't that bad. (the 15 will take you the whole way up there) Flying isn't worth the money you would have to fork over.
