My WD portable hard drive isnt recognized like it used to be?
I have an old portable hard drive with many pics and videos that cant be replaced. The other day i plugged it into my computer and it is now recognized as a "Scorpio" according to the tool bar when i plug it in. When i open "My Computer" it isn't listed at all. I have tried using it on 3 computers so far and it does the same thing.
How can i get my things off of it?
It is an old one, from like 2004. I think it was just a WD passport. My new one is a "My Passport"
Have tried several cables on several computers and it keeps doing the same thing

Can you tell us what model WC Portable drive? The reason I ask is that I just had a co-worker had the same problem I took off the plastic casing and directly connected the usb to the drive/connector and we were able to see the drive. Also I used a new/different USB cable. Try the cable first, yes very rare to go bad but they can. Of course try different port hopefully they are all USB 2.0? GL
