Are things in the USA cheaper than Canada?

Generally it is. but you can't say completely.

Electricity is cheaper in Canada - gas is cheaper in the US

Sugar is cheaper in Canada - cheese is cheaper in the US

University Degree, hospital visit, prescription drugs are cheaper in canada. Beer, cigarettes and income taxes are cheaper in the US

I guess it depends what you're talking about. Obviously health care is cheaper in Canada, but I just got back from a week in Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver, and it was SO expensive.

For instance, a dinner out with one other person where I'm from (Portland, OR) might be like, $12-13 an entree, plus $4 for a drink, but in Canada it was more like $18-20 an entree and $6 for a drink. We took two friends out (total of four of us) and had two pitchers of beer and spent $140.

On average, things in the USA are a bit cheaper. Some things are significantly cheaper, like books. A bit irritating, that!

Everything but healthcare. But the quality of life is much better in Canada. America is Canadas Mexico if you catch my drift.

We have certain cheap things (paper, sugar and health care) but Americans in general pay less for food, internet, and phone service.

Obviously real estate varies because they are very different countries.

Also, sales tax is confusing because every province and US state is different.

Most things, but they pay a fortune for "luxury healthcare" that usually ends when their job does, and they shout to lay off more people everyday "to save money"
