What are stereotypes of Vietnamese people?

The stereotypes for Vietnamese are basically the same stereotypes for all Asians. First off, most people, at first glance, can't even tell that I'm Vietnamese. Most people assume:

1. I'm Chinese

2. I speak Chinese

3. I eat cats and dogs

4. I can't drive

5. I'm short (which I am, but it's just one of the stereotypes)

6. I am a genius at math

7. I can play an instrument with the level of a concert performer without practicing (I play the piano but I practice)

8. I am a nerd

9. I love Science and do nothing but science 24/7 (I'm a Biology major, but still...)

10. I score perfect grades on everything and I never get anything less than an A

11. Get accepted by a billion colleges and go to the most prestigious one

12. Studying is like...our hobby...

13. Aspire to be a doctor (ok..well...that's me...)

14. We eat nothing but egg rolls and noodles and rice at home 24/7 and no fast food

15. Somebody in our family works at a nail salon (my mom does.. xD)

16. We like to sing karaoke (I don't..)

17. The men like to do nothing but drink and gamble and come home drunk every single day (since they are portrayed that way in dramas and movies and such)

The question is quite straight forward. I am trying to think as detail as possible.

well, the truth is that there isn't one in particular that everyone would know and refer to... there is one for vietnamese-americans -- in that there are stereotypes for asians in general... for asian women - they are either dragon ladies, or they are geisha girls. i saw tila on a social networking site years and years ago. i recall sending instant messages to her and she seemed very typical for a girl on IM, nothing out of the ordinary or different. the reason she has made a splash is partailly b/c she is a "go getter" and also b/c she is a bit different... exotic certainly. so she plays on the look. it would be nice if she could send out some nice messages that are intelligent, but for the format she's mainly in - she fits.

vietnamese people like to cut hair and do nails. become doctor etc. etc. etc.

That they have flat noses. They they can find uses for ALL of a chicken, even the beak.

That all the women own cheap clothing stores or are beautitians

Poor, prostitutes, mail order brides, gangsters.

They all eat cats and dogs.
