Why doesn't Australia have Double decker Trams?

Most Australian cities don't have trams, we do have double decker trains

England hasn't had trams for a very long time. They used to have double decker trolley buses but they disappeared fifty years or more ago. The famous double decker buses in London are also being phased out I understand. I think Hong Kong has double decker trams but they are the only ones I know of.

In any case, apart from Melbourne which has an extensive tram system, there are few other trams in Australia. Adelaide has one line to Glenelg. Sydney has one line they call the light rail but it is a tram system. I think there are trams still in Bendigo or Ballarat in Victoria but that would be about it.

If Melbourne were to get double decker trams it would coast a fortune raising all the wires.

Ok we don't have double decker trams ?? So what ? We don't have bullet trains or Gondolas or Jeepneys ot Tuk Tuks either.

Australia , like every country has it's own transport system and that works for us.

You want double decker trams you think are cool?

Then go to where they are then and stop whining about it?

If I want Pyramids I go to Egypt, not New Zealand.

If I want Gondolas I go to Venice , not Pakistan so get a grip and go where the stuff you want is to be had. We don't care 2 cents about not having double decker trams, the problem --for whatever reason is YOURS.

We would need to heighten all the tram cables all across the city.

Prune a number of very old historical trees,

probably killing them in the process from the shock.

And retrain a number of tram drivers.

That's a lot of costs to take into account for something we neither need nor want.

We Melbournians quite like are trams.

No it does not sound silly this is not England mate it is Australia
