Who's your favorite princess?

Looking for books for preschool-age children that represent princesses as strong, independent, and capable, and princes as good, helpful, and wise friends. I want to lead the children away from the traditional view of the princess who is weak and wilting and awaiting rescue.

    hey Leslie,

I love a princess not mentioned here...mostly because she is a simple American girl from San Diego, Kelly Rondestvedt, who got her MBA from UCLA, turn into an Investment Banker....and actually met a real Prince....Prince Hubertus...of Germany...so she is now Princess Kelly...

Princess of Saxe - Coburg und Gotha, Germany....

So she is educated, hard working...made her own way and became a Princess...how beautiful is that?

From the Disney realm Belle, because I like that she sends a good reading message to young children.

My favorires are Mulan and Belle. But that being said... my daughter grew up loving ALL the Disney princesses (even the weak and wilting ones), and she still grew up to be a strong, independent woman. She's currently in medical school but still gets a kick out of meeting the princesses at Disney World!

The princess and the frog <3 its a recent movie, im sure you can get it in book form. Im 17 and not a preschooler but she is my favourite!!!

    She is -

    - The first black princess EVER (teaches to accept races)

    - Super hard working!! She works double shifts day and night to buy a restaurant she has always wanted.

    - She is smart and handy and helps everyone and shes just amazing !! <3

And it doesn't have the typical ending, she doesn't marry the prince and he buys the restaurant for her, she still has to work for it!

I've always like reading the Snow Queen or works by Grimm. Our library has a book called The Paper Bag Princess. My grandkids beg me to read "Falling For Rapunzel" by Lydia Monks, an offbeat tale. "The Knight and the Dragon" by Tomie dePaola is another good classic for the boys.

I love beauty and the beast!! Belle is an amazing princess. She doesn't see beauty from the outside but from the inside and she is smart. She saves her dad when he's sick in the forrest alone. Belle is my favorite.

Mulan, if she is considered a princess.

She was a hero and didn't need to be saved. She also saved China AND Shane. ;) That is bad ***.

Ariel! She is brave, adventurous and gives up her mermaid life for being with her love. She makes a great wife and mom in the sequels.

(Các) Nguồn: She was my favorite because she saves herself.
