how much would a good laptop cost?
well i just want a laptop that browses the internet fast and too play sim3 on it
and i have a compaq presario cq60 so its not fast

If Sims is the most demanding thing you plan to use, then it is my understanding that the integrated video from any 3rd and 4th generation i Series CPU will work. This would include any of the AMD A series as well. Consider carefully the most demanding game you will use in the next 2 years and find a laptop with a video card which will handle that application.
I suggest sticking with Lenovo, Asus, HP or Samsung laptops. Personally, for HP, I try to avoid their consumer line and stick to their business line: Elitebooks and Probooks.
