I totally agree with you that many religions just control masses, normally they are connected with nationalism - nothing to do with God. Eg Ireland Protestants and Catholics, Balkans Catholics, Muslims and Orthodox.

Do you believe that the Bible is God's word? If you do then there is a verse that encourages us to meet with others who have the same beliefs as we do - in everything, using the Bible as the basis:

Hebrews 10:24, 25 - to encourage and to incite to good works and love for one another

This is the meaning of being part of the religion that God approves.

Who would want to join religions that go to war or cause division or who are money driven?? This is why organized religion is so repulsive. They don't live in harmony with their so called teachings.

God has always organized his people, not to control them but to protect them, mostly spiritually. When you find this group of people that are of the same mind and only use the scriptures to guide their lives then this is the key to being part of a religion.

I'm a former atheist who despised the thought of religion, still don't like the word very much at all but do appreciate what it means to be part of a loving organization that wants to be close to each other and to God.

Organised religion these days is a turn off, full of feel good rockn roll, social clubs.

The Truth has been lost, and we should come to God the Father through Christ's name when praying thanks and requests for healing etc.

We can go straight to him, we don't need a Church or middle man.

God is independent of man, it is man who creates religion around God. Religion is a construct of man and best serves man not God. As a Deist I believe in God and believe that God does interact to a limited degree with His creation. I reject the dogma organized religion. There are many branches in the tree of Deism. Deism is not about following a predetermined path to God, its about find your own path... unique to you. A Deist seeks their own answer to the question of God... we do not follow the sheeple on the predetermined path.

By the way... I like the way you think as we have very similar views. You are not alone!

It is not a religion so much as a church made up of man religions, but the Universalists believe all faiths are paths to God and/or gods. You may see some obvious difficulties to that view, but inclusiveness is their main focus and dogma comes far behind that.

As for what you are though, if you believe in a god, you are by definition a theist. Anything more than that, you cannot expect us to be more able to answer than you are.

You don't believe in God. If you did, you would agree with Him and serve Him. Draw His attention by emulsating Him, and know Him.

Once you have established a connection with the Spirit He will lead you in your thoughts and your experience will be to first think new thoughts as answers to your questions and needs and then find them to fit with the word as you study it. It is not possible to understand the word of God without the Spirit.

The Spirit will answer as a thought inside your head. A thought and a name you have never heard before. Listen carefully and pronounce the name carefully and correctly. While the Spirit who made all things is not petty and will help you even if you can't get his name right the corporeal entities who love his name are like computers and like a computer you need to pronounce the Spirit's name correctly to get maximum benefit from their company.

You will come to know you are not alone. The help of the Spirit and his servants is much better than any human help you could possibly receive.
