Is Dexter's girlfriend, Rita, Jewish?

I just went and took a look at the scene. First, it's a house, not an apartment. I'm no expert on mezuzahs, but the fact that it's mounted at an angle might suggest that it is. However, it also looks like it's slightly inside the doorway, and I thought mezuzahs were supposed to be mounted outside the door, but I could be wrong about that. I don't see any Hebrew writing on it, but it's small, so I can't be sure.

So it's possible that the owner of the house had mounted a mezuzah on the door frame, and the camera simply caught it. If so, it wouldn't indicate Rita's religion, just that of the owner of the actual house.

But to look for other clues, I just went and took a look at the wedding scene of Dexter & Rita, at the end of the 3rd season, to see if there might be a rabbi presiding, or some other sign that it was a Jewish wedding. But I don't see any. The minister is wearing a green stole around his neck which appears to have a yellow cross on it, near the bottom.
