Dem. Nadler says Republicans are TERRIFIED about emergency declaration and can STOP it?

I don’t know how much want to believe this guy, but Rep. Nadler, a Democrat, says that he thinks there might be enough Republicans to vote down Trump’s declaration of national emergency.

Nadler makes an argument some Republicans have made, which is that taking this action allows Democrats to do the same when they get into power. That is exactly what happened with Harry Reid and the nuclear option when Republicans took over. Nadler points out that Dems could declare a national emergency on guns and just ban all guns or force everyone to register their guns without any congressional approval. He makes a good point. For a Democrat.

I am not sure how anyone can stop the declared emergency.

My understanding is that POTUS is free to decide what constitutes an emergency and can then act as he or she sees fit. Even if no-one else sees it as an emergency their views do not count.

Most of Obama's national emergencies seem to be in other countries: Somalia, Libya, Yemen, Russia, Ukraine, Sudan, Central African Republic, Venezuela and Burundi.

Nadler had his stomach stapled because he was fat as a hippo.

I have a cousin that married one of these left wing Jews, same way as Schumer, Nadler, Blumenthal.

Republicans can stop it but they are too cowardly to oppose Trump and anger his base.

Republicans are probably hoping that the courts will stop this emergency declaration. Alternatively, they probably think that the next Democratic president will be more rational than Trump, which is of course most likely.

You do see the irony in the fact that Trump has now declared an emergency in precisely the same way that the far-right used to claim Obama was going to declare an emergency don't you?

The only concern Republicans would have is if Democrats tried to declare an emergency over climate change or gun violence. Totally different things since those would require major law changes as opposed to how money is spent.
