iBuyPower a good brand name for desktops?

Yes they're decent. Personally I would always suggest building your own though for less. And use a Core i5 2500K over the 2600

EDIT: You can build one yourself with a 2500K ($80 LESS THAN THE 2600) ...overclock it to over 4 ghz, and put the extra $80 into a better video card like the 570 GTX, and you'll have a better machine

The parts that are used in an iBuyPower PC are far better than what you would ever find in HP, Dell. IBuyPower uses the same parts custom builder use and these are the high quality parts that are found on newegg. So, that PC's quality will meet or exceed that of an Apple or Alienware. If you can build it yourself, you will probably be better off.

In addition to that, I would make an attempt to go to ibuypower's site and see what exact parts are used in that PC. Although the 800w power supply sounds nice, iBuypower has been know to use cheaper power supplies. Overall, that's an excellent deal for a prebuilt PC and I doubt you will find a better deal on a premade PC anywhere else. I would take that ibuypower PC over an Alienware anyday.

iBuyPower's customer service isn't known to be the best around. However, Costco does give you a 2 year warranty on electronics that are purchased in their store. Costco does take very good care of their customers.

They're decent but really not the best, if u want the best performance for price you should just order all the parts (for example from newegg) and assemble it yourself. Overclocking is not hard either assuming that you invest in a good heatsink and read the manuals.

The one you are looking at has a i7-2600 processor, they have locked multipliers meaning that they cannot be overclocked freely. It will only reach like 3.4 or 3.7 ghz or whatever the turbo mode is on them.

Microtel, haven't heard of, probably small "beige box" manufacturer. I might rate them C, if they are a good business. Asus - B+, maybe A. HP -B, because of the Compaq that led them to mediocre consumer machines, rather than pretty solid corporate type machines, like Lenovo (which I rate as A) does. Gateway - C - They are a division of Acer now, which I overall rate as C iBuypower and Cyberpower, I don't know too much, but they get talk, so I will rate each B. Dell is A-.
