What to do with Dental Packing?

Alrighty, so I had mouth surgery on Friday (a graft to stop gum receding) and I have packing in my mouth, between the lower lip and lower gum, from that (as well as some on the roof, since that's where it came from). The surgeon/doctor said to keep it in over the weekend and then it's ok. He also mentioned something about it falling out though.

Question: Should I take the packing out myself tomorrow or wait for it to fall out? Considering its between the lip and gum, it...really can't fall out, so I'm thinking I'll have to take it out.
